2019 Dues. For those who wish to renew their membership to the NRHS National organization, be advised that the 2019 dues notices have been mailed, and you should have received the envelope by now. Awards ceremony 05/18/2018

Burlington County History Awards Ceremony. Authors and Chapter members Christopher J. Young, Jr., and William J. Coxey were awarded plaques for their book Two Roads to Medford, which won the Burlington County Published History Award for 2018. The awards ceremony was held at the Smithville Mansion on Friday, May 18. Accepting the award on behalf of the authors are (from left to right) Chapter officers John Burlage, Dave Homer, and Ron Baile.

Just published! West Jersey Chapter's latest book, Two Roads to Medford, by Christopher J. Young, Jr., and William J. Coxey, is now available via mail order (please visit the Books page), at monthly Chapter meetings, and at train shows West Jersey Chapter participates in. This book covers the history of the Pennsylvania Railroad's Mount Holly & Medford Branch, Burlington Branch, Vincentown Branch, and the West Jersey & Seashore Railroad's Medford Branch. The price of this limited edition book is $22.00.

SEPTA 2017 Trolley Tour 10/15/2017

SEPTA Trolley Excursion. Our LRV for the six hour tour was none other than prototype Kawasaki "K-car" 9000, which was built in 1980. The tour covered much of Routes 10, 11, 13, 15, 34, and 36, non-revenue and diversion trackage, the Center City trolley tunnel, Elmwood depot, and Callowhill carbarn, with numerous photo stops. A Walk to MP 3 03/08/2014

A Walk to Milepost 3 on the Princeton Branch. West Jersey Chapter member John Kilbride (at center, in orange) hosted a trip over the Princeton Branch on Saturday, March 8, 2014. After inspecting NJ Transit's new temporary station at Princeton, the group hiked to Milepost 3, now standing amidst the buildings of Princeton University on land that was once the PRR's terminal. WJC NJT River LINE Shop Tour 06/08/2013

LRV 3503 had ferried our group from the 36th Street Station in Pennsauken to the shop complex, and is positioned over the inspection pit in this photo. WJC Amtrak Wilmington Shop Tour 04/06/2013

Wilmington Shop Tour. West Jersey Chapter members and friends gather for a group photograph beneath the date stone in the conference room of the Administration Building (Building No. 12) at Amtrak's Wilmington Maintenance Facility on Saturday, April 6, 2013. After hearing a brief history of the facility and given a safety briefing, our group toured the facility, which included visits to the locomotive shop and the wheel shop. Building No. 12 was built in 1903 by the Pennsylvania Railroad, and currently houses the Facility Maintenance Staff, the headquarters for the Amtrak Bureau of Rolling Stock Engineering, and several other offices and departments. It sits between the Northeast Corridor and the Locomotive Shop. Photo by Kevin Painter.

Publications are available via mail order, and also at monthly West Jersey Chapter membership meetings, and train and railroadiana shows where our Chapter maintains a sales table (check the Calendar of Events). Also, be sure to check out historic photos on the Trebino Collection page.
Monthly West Jersey Chapter membership meetings are normally held at the Haddon Heights Municipal Building at 625 Station Ave. The facility is ADA compliant, and is located one block away from the ACRR/PRSL Haddon Heights station on the Clementon Branch, and two blocks away from the White Horse Pike (US Route 30). For a map of the vicinity, click here. For those wishing to take public transportation, the White Horse Pike is served by NJ Transit bus route 403. (The Clementon Branch is freight-only.)
